Because it doesn't seem to make a difference who gets voted in, most Americans believe all politicians are more interested in power and pushing private agendas than building a better America.

we take democracy for granted and most dont understand the implications of not voting

Because their lazy!

They asume that their single vote will not make enough of a difference.
