What is this site?
Opinion Republic is a dynamic and ever-changing assessment of public opinion.
Here you will find the top 10 responses to the questions people care most about.
The responses are continually submitted by the general public, and continually
ranked by the general public. The most popular opinions rise to the top, while
the least popular fall out of the list over time.
Why was it created?
The site was founded in 2005 as an experimental project of a professional
market researcher. The intent is to allow the general public to express opinions
on topics that matter to them. Whether your intent in visiting this site is for
information, or just to see what the general public thinks about a certain
subject, we hope you will benefit. It’s really just that simple.
How does it work?
The questions posted come from topics that the general public suggests.
After a question is posted, anyone can vote on the most current responses
and/or add their own response using our proprietary research methodology.
When there are few voters for a poll, most opinions will make the top ten
list. As the poll matures, a response won’t make the Top 10 list unless it has
been viewed by at least 30 voters to ensure the response popularity has some
consistency. Each voter is allowed a maximum of one vote per question
(multiple voting is discouraged). This helps prevent biasing of
results.
Top 10 lists will vary a bit over time as the site is meant to reflect the
dynamic reality of public opinion.
